Appointments & Payment for Veterinary Services

To help keep everyone safe from COVID-19, we have moved to non-contact consulting. Please call us to make your appointment. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

To make an appointment for your pet please call the clinic during business hours. Referring veterinarians are welcome to call the clinic to discuss cases with our clinicians. To refer a case please see Referring a Case. We are a strictly appointment only practice unless in the case of an emergency.

Emergency cases will be seen immediately. The scheduled length of appointments allows for the fact that final year interns participate in consultations.

Unfortunately, the UVTHS cannot offer veterinary advice or provide answers to specific medical questions about animals that are not under our care. Telephone advice is available for referring veterinarians. Members of the public with animal health related concerns are encouraged to contact their local veterinarian or the UVTHS for a professional consultation.

The University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Sydney receives no subsidy for its veterinary services. The charges at the UVTHS are comparable to those of private veterinary practices and are kept to the minimum level possible that is consistent with the highest quality of care for the animals being treated.

Our policy requires a 50% deposit of the estimated treatment cost for all admissions into hospital prior to any diagnostic investigations and treatment. Full payment of the remaining balance is required at the time the animal is discharged from hospital. Payment methods accepted:
